Puzzle of the Day (Maths Brain Teaser Question)
Two friends started with a debate while planning a vacation. One of them says that the train will be a faster means of transport. The other denies and says that the train stops half way to the hotel and they will have to walk the rest of the way to the hotel on foot and thus they should take the bikes instead. The first friend denies too and thus the second one takes bike and the first takes train (and walks the remaining distance on foot). Now you know that the speed of train is four times that of bike's speed. Also, the bike's speed is two times faster than the walking speed. Who do you think will reach the hotel first?
